Existing deteriorated cedar shakes needed to be removed and replaced with a new board and batten refresh.  With the school located directly across the street from residences, spacing of the battens was varied to help break down the scale of very large walls into smaller areas that would better harmonize with the scale of the surrounding neighborhood.  Different colors were used on building volumes to further break down the scale into more complementary pieces.
