When deciding on an entry to the 2020 Portland Winter Light Festival, YGH embraced its longstanding commitments to sustainability and community. Light Pollution was designed and constructed entirely by YGH staff, volunteering their lunch hours and Saturday mornings over the course of several months. Prefabricated offsite from reclaimed wood and fishing nets, as well as plastic bottles temporarily diverted from the recycling stream, YGH is proud to have paricipated in this inspiring community art event.
