Yost Grube Hall was awarded this project through a fixed cost, quality-based design-build competition. The new 90,000 SF Kinesiology & Athletics Building provides recreational, educational and social space for Humboldt State University. The facility houses a natatorium, gymnasium for competition basketball and volleyball and a dance studio along with athletic office suites and Kinesiology instructional space. Designed to LEED Silver standards, the building’s sustainable features include daylighting, natural ventilation, rainwater harvesting and use of healthy recycled materials.
