This new academic building for Humboldt State University houses the departments of Behavioral & Social Sciences and Native American studies. A covered outdoor arcade creates a protected central social zone between five floor and one floor building components. Inside, breakout lounges promote interdepartmental interaction. The single level conference facility provides a cultural center for the Native American community. The building was named the Best Overall Sustainable Design project for the UC/CSU System in 2005, and was awarded LEED Gold certification.
