In 2018, YGH completed a 9,063 SF second-floor renovation for a Private Client in The Union Bank Building, a 15-story, Class A office building completed in 1969. Located in the heart of downtown Portland, the site is an ideal location for this fast-growing tech company. In anticipation of staff expansion, the space planning was designed for growth and flexibility, including an open workspace configuration, private offices, conference rooms, informal meeting spaces, break room, product testing spaces, and training rooms. Wanting to utilize the abundance of natural light, private offices and conference rooms were located on the Southern perimeter, allowing for natural illumination throughout the open workspaces. In addition to daylighting, LED ambient pendant lighting with sensors were installed to conserve energy, while the light fixtures were sourced from a Portland designer, helping to support the local economy. YGH’s commitment to utilizing reclaimed materials resulted in the use of doors and door frames from a previous commercial office, saving these from landfill waste. Sustainable materials and products were strategically selected to address a conscious budget while providing a healthy indoor air quality.
